The 6th Generation Toyota Corolla was introduced in 1987. The 6th Generation Corolla is a front engine front wheel drive sedan. The Toyota Corolla 6th Generation introduced a new angular design language ditching the boxy design of the previous 5th Generation Toyota Corolla. The 6th Generation Toyota Corolla is available in 4 variants DX, TX, XL and SE. The 6th Generation Toyota Corolla is also available in 3 body styles 4-door sedan, 5-door liftback and 3-door hatchback. Production of the 6th Generation Toyota Corolla lasted for 5 years. The Toyota Corolla was available to purchase during the years 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990 and the year 1991. The front end houses trapezium styled side swept headlights, a black rectangular grille embossed with a chrome Toyota logo in the middle and a rectangular air intake. The 3-door hatchback features identical styling at the front to the 4-door sedan but at the rear, it houses stacked vertical side swept taillights, a standard case hatchback, and an outward sticking bumper. The 5-door liftback features identical styling to the hatchback from the front but the rear end houses a sloping roofline, a rear lift gate, and an outward sticking bumper. All variants of the Toyota Corolla feature identical styling in every aspect. The overall exterior of the 6th Generation Toyota Corolla features a fairly restrained and minimalistic design language that is typical for a Japanese sedan designed in the late eighties.
