While i'm over here, i had a few questions for you. I was creating a separate thread but i believe that is not necessary.
I currently posses a Toyota D4D aka 1KD. The SUV had in excess of 257,000kms currently, all under my ownership and almost all on motorways at a constant rpm and never pushed to the limits (Carbon?).
One fine morning it decided emitting high amounts of white-grey-blue smoke that lingered the air for quite a bit. My first impression was a gasket, but the smoke smelled of unburnt fuel and oil specifically. I don't recall any sweet aroma of Toyota Red LLC. Anyways, i decided to pull it onto the road and punch the accelerator slowly all the way to the sidewall to de-flood whatever was causing it to struggle. It cleared itself after causing a bad day in Beijing for the neighbors. Next morning, same ordeal. I parked the car and have gone away for a few months. When i go back, i will have to get a lot fixed. The car has never been touched by any mechanic except whatever little i know. I have previously serviced the driveshaft splines, gone through the EGR cleaning, EGR blanked with 7mm tolerance and 5000km oil changes and almost all the preventative maintenance. It gave zero issues for 250k and still has the factory injectors with perfect feedback correction values till June of 2015.
Anyways, i was preparing for a leak down but my compressor gave way along with the TechStream being a pain to get to work and that was that. I did pull the oil pan and noticed blocked oil pick-up screen. I then pulled the valve cover and it was full of black goo and oil [Engine oil is Mobil turbo diesel] [Turbo gone]. Since then, i have ordered a new turbo, radiator [Had a very slight leak which i believe is common], a complete remanufactured set of Bailey's Diesel Group injector set from Australia before going broke.
Apart from all this, the car did travel with extremely heavy weight constantly in the rear [It was stripped for RCIED prevention] for around 10,000kms at very high constant speeds in heavy dust and border areas for 2 years but with 1500km oil changes. Since then, it has never been the same. At this point, what should i be expecting? I have access to Toyota Australia and few friends willing to carry stuff back to Pk. I'm not willing to have the car dismantled by monkeys and thus have to play by speculation.
Suggestions and insights? With Kind Rgds
