the interior on the luce is 100% factory, but both the bench seats are in dire need of redoing, seat-backs however are pristine but that wasn't gonna help. the headliner has a 3/4 of rips too (i will get some pics of the headliner up later). decision needed to be taken because i want to get the interior sorted before the car goes onto rotisserie. this way, it all could be test fitted and once the car is all done up, it will all then be installed, saving me from any post paint job havocs on the part of interior guy's "chotas"
i have been out all day getting quotes. the guy i would go to, any day, wants 50k-55kish for the treated leather job on the interior. i expected no less than that for i wanted all the interior to be finished in totally factory setting but in treated leather. i know many would oppose the decision of going with the treated leather interior for all kinds of reasons but the thing is, how often do you restore a luce to its best? so hell with the cost and everything, treated leather it is
the only thing that needs to be decided however is what color of treated leather should i go with. i could always go for black but then do i really want to? its so boring so i guess not. perhaps i should go with the brown to match the wooden dash panel? or perhaps something totally out of the box? decisions decisions decisions. any ideas on the leather color choice are welcome, as long as they are suggested keeping in view that the car is to retain its original factory paint shade, Cordoba Red
also had a price quote on the paint job, with Du Pont material at the core, the paint job is expected anything between 75k to 85k, i have been told today, well this needs further discussion. what does everyone has to say about it? lets hear some debate?
did go to my body job guy but he was kind of busy so didn't feel it be the right time to discuss what i need doing with the stripped body shell. i still have some days before i would be ready with the shell mounted on the rotisserie, all stripped, blasted down under and all, for him. scheduled for monday with him about the body job discussion and left. will have an update as soon as i have had the discussion with him but i am guessing 50-60k odd would do for him too
so we are loosely looking at a budget of about 175k-185kish all in for the interior, body and paint job. boy o boy, do i need some positive cash flows now
