I might have to find a 1500 unit for a 71 in family, currently running 1C. Body badly rusted but a very complete car. Will keep an update if I find a 929 or similiar engine.
guys i need sugestions with pics..how about this 929
Guys no one advised or helped me.Thats very bad...any ways despite no help from fellow Pak wheelers I started the restoration work.Starting with Interior as it was in bad shaped.Removed all the poshish & seats.New carpeting,Black & red combination leather seats plus side panels, door panels with same red & black combination. Also removed front & rear bumpers, garnish, front grill, head light rings for chroming, few pastures from out side were rust & denting work.More over custom made mud guard inside shields for protection from rain water & mud.Painting the hubs (all 4) with car colour matching.Installation of heater and few electrical work.......the list goes onn
cleaning the dusty lights, repairing the rare garnish as it has a lil crack in mid,in phase 2 i will decide about the engine up-gradations.currently it has a Toyota 2c (non turbo) diesel engine which runs good but i want the power under my right foot...so advice me a good powerful petrol engine. My vote is in favor of Toyoya 1G (Fe) in line 6 cylinder 2000cc with its original Auto gear set up.I can get a hand on that engine in RWP with auto gear it costs Rs:65kAs its a 2 liter engine so my fuel cost will remain the same like the diesel one.Any other suggestion will be highly appreciated.I am not into racing neither preparing the car for the same but would like to have a power under the foot.As it will be my daily runner so i also want fuel economy to be kept in mind.More over I dont want to spend too much money on engine swap & also dont want to disturb the originality of the car by putting such a big engine whom require structural changes.Waiting for you guys positive suggestions & advices.
awesome keep us updated..
@440Thanks@AllI have made few changes as well:
1-Painted the rare garnish shield into dull black (it looks awsome) with new cleaned rare lights.2-Painted the front grill into matt black as well.Previously both were light gray & very faid.3-Painted the front nose of the car into matt black as it got few blasted paint marks on the front tip (nose) & to cover up i have to entirely paint the front bonut.so it saved cost as well as looks awsome.Converted the door handels & window handels into red.Entire interior set up is converted into red & black like a detamasu charade. Also replaced the front seats & got new sport seats with red & black leatherite.Looks great.Car interior is almost ready & will upload the pics of the new interior today evening
waitin for the pics sir !
MASHA ALLAH Good Going!!!All the best for your project.
@ AllSorry for the delay.I was very busy in office.Few small works/upgradations still left..like one left side sun shade is broken, Gola chromed rubber installation on door handels etc..well under the hud is still a Toyota 2c Non Turbo diesel engine..will swap it with a Toyota 1G FE (2 Liter) with Auto gear set up soon...in this regard more options/suggestions will be appreciated..
sorry for the bad quality pictures.Taken from mobile
Thats very bad....Pak wheelers no comments no suggestions on my ride Recently had a hunting trip on my Classic rig...it wnet on all dirt & jeep tracks of Jand (District Attock) without any problem...carry two dogs in trunk..and 4 gunners inside..awsome power, & ground clearence with very comfort..as previously we did this type of hunting in Potohar jeep which was back breaking & highly uncomfortable
Wow Very Nice Classic Ride man Can i Suggest One thing? Put a Vinyl on it the 2 Stripes which Go from the hood to Trunk In Black Colour It will look awesome
That's really great!!!It means you got the right machine!!
@NashtrooperYeah infact its a very rough & tough machine. Also very comfortable as compare to a local manufactured 4x4 like Potohar. As its not a 4wd so offroad capability is limited but due to powerful Toyota 2c diesel engine..it moves very easily on all the dirt treks..i covered few treks of Jund (Dist Attock) for partrage hunting which we use to climb on Potohar in 4x4 Low gear..as our Potohar Jeep is on CNG...and other utility is the big trunk..on hunting tours like the one i did last weekend ..carrying dogs, Guns, Amo & hunting gear was a big problem in tiny potohra..as there was no trunk space available due to CNG.So over all I prepare such a vehicle in low budget which can go evey where & its beautiful, stylish, comfortable.Guys also suggest me for a engine swap..currently it has a 2c diesel engine..plz suggest me a good petrol engine which is fuel efficient, power with econmy & wont require too much alterations. How a bout a Toyota 1-G Fe...in line 6 cylinder 2000cc with auto gear set up.
if you do off track (unpaved road) often auto gear is not good choice she sure have a muscle car look.
lovely beast nice ride drive safe and give me a ride in it too
@HidialgoThanks for the appreciation.U r most welcome to get a ride..no fair for that
the word BEAST is best used word for this car, my father having 929 dark green in mid 70's ( with longer body one ) and we still enjoy its good memories
if u dont mind, please remove this black sticker from bonnet and these extra fog lights as they are ruining the beauty , remove the tints, remove the red color from the rear drum, if you can change the upholstery of doors from red to some brown beige black it will be good as everything is too red. remove the shooter sticker, try to find the stock rims( not alloy, the original which use to come with it) as they are not going with the theme. and keep its simple n elegant. rest thumbs up man!
@Legel_Rebel,Please go through the last page & last pictures..the car with shooters stickers is not mine..just pasted the pictures of that car to get an idea from you guys..my car is the one on last page with reg number IDG-629
