for that sort of work, you need to find US military spec terminals - also called "jeep walay terminal" in Pakistan, they are solid lead or solid copper and have two studs on either side, the stud is removable though.
You can then tighten the lug - which you call thimble to those studs - The biggest issue I saw in Pakistan was that only 1% people know how to crimp them manually. A very short cut way is to place the lug barrel against a 90 degree corner like the elbow of a vise and use a brick masons chisel (has a round edge with no blade) and hammer that barrel onto the wire - takes a few blacksmith level strikes - also make sure that the lug barrel and wire are the right size, meaning dont use a bigger lug barrel on a thinner wire as water will get trapped and cause issues.
Finally slip some heatshrink over the lug and wire and shrink it down to it becomes weatherproof.
