PKDMs don't even get crash tested, which are mandatory abroad. The moose test, the rollover test etc are advanced tests that are not mandatory abroad but are often done by other agencies to raise awareness. They might become mandatory in future though.
I would not believe tests on similar cars performed abroad to be valid for PKDM cars. In the past, India's cars were tested by Global NCAP and almost all of them failed miserably. They had the same specs on paper, but in reality, they lacked structural integrity and the cabin deformed with lesser force as compared to their counterparts abroad. Also, the airbags installed in Indian models were of smaller size and inadequate for proper protection. I can only wonder what would happen if PKDM cars are tested. We need to raise some awareness for this to be done, so that we can push the government for bringing legislation in this regard to save lives.
