Fantastic!
My prayer are with you!
But I've one question; why you chose The F800GSA over other bikes like The Honda Africa Twin, KTM's Adv line-up, Yamaha Super Tenere or perhaps BMW's own R1200GSA?
I personally think that you'd be better served with something a little more powerful as you'd be spending almost 80% of your journey on paved roads and highways.
Now, The F800 platform is certainly not a slouch but the biggest problem, in my opinion, is the 360 Degree crank which makes pitiful horsepower for the displacement and most importantly, according to various reviews; makes a lot of vibrations at 4,000RPMs and up. And lets face it, you'll be running the engine high in the rev range most of the time! There's a reason behind why BMW chose to go with 270 Degree crank on the new F850GS Platform.
And if that's not enough, the bike also possess QC issues and is very maintenance extensive, not something to clock thousand upon thousands of miles upon. I'm an avid reader and poster on www.AdvRider.com Forum and over there; I hear nothing but bad things about FGS. One thread regarding this bike reads:
"splitting gas tank shells, cheap chains, bad wheel bearings, bikes that won't start, leaky gaskets, lack of warranty extension on known problems and an apathetic attitude on the part of the company."
So like I said... I would love to hear your explanation because you've obviously done some serious research on this matter!
I'm very curious and shall be eagerly waiting for your response!
Good Day!
