@Xulfiqar, hope you're doing well.
I'm looking at buying a sort-of professional OBD-2 scanner, so that I don't have to take my car to a dealer every time I get a check engine light for no good reason. I live quite far from Shahnawaz Islamabad (about an hour or so of a drive), so going there to have a small check light addressed is really annoying.
I've been searching online and found good reviews regarding an Autel Maxidiag (can't remember the exact model number) and a G-scan 2 (which is what most workshops use in Rawalpindi/Islamabad). I've seen and used the G-Scan 2 and found it to communicate well with most Mercedes and BMW models. I used a G-Scan 2 to clear a few fault codes on a 2010 w204 and a 2002 E39 and it worked as it should. Most techs in Pindi/Islamabad recommend me buying a G-Scan 2 since it comes with a warranty and software support (because there's a certified dealer here for it).
What would you recommend? I would also be able to use the scanner I buy when looking at used car, so wouldn't end up asking someone to do that for me.
It would primarily be used to check German cars and sometimes some Jap imports and a few locally assembled ones.
