Cv joints are part of the drivetrain not suspension. Basically for such an issue a mechanic begins with cleaning or changing transmission oil valve, ignition coils, then spark plugs, transmission fluid, fuel filter, fuel pump.
I am telling this because I have gone through all this. But the problem still existed. At the end the mechanic said the problem is with the transmission so it should be replaced. But I didnt agree to him anymore.
After a few months another mechanic took a test drive and told me that the problem was with inner axles. So I got them replaced. Things are going good so far.
Please note. I have two 8th gen civic with same problem. And a friend of mine has an 2015 9th gen who had exactly the same fault. He took my advice and replaced only inner cv joints and his car got perfect.
