Bmw x5, x35i N55b30 engine Oil sump repack, and new engine mounts
Front drive axles removed, Diff bolts to sump,
Axle go through sump Everything is beefy heavy Engine hanging as subframe has been lowered,
Steer rack tied to chassis PS pump ( yes it is hydraulic ) also bolts to sump the bolts are aluminium and magnesium alloy Renew bolts threads of sump, all 28 bolts Before installing new bolts, clean threading in engine with thread chaser, not cutting tap
Then polish sump and engine with 1000, 3000 and 5000 paper and wipe clean
Install bolts and tighten to exactly 6 lb/ft and mark all bolts with a line, then in one go turn all bolts 90 degrees. Turn the 8 long bolts another 90 degrees The most time consumed is cleaning all thread holes And polishing sump Gasket is cheap,80 Dirhams, bolt set 200 aed, landed 50 hours after ordering from UAE -- Oil pump bolt set required for oil pickup reinstall,
Tighten to 2.5 lb/ft and tighten 90 degrees Teknikal work
One pull per bolt Dont stop midway to readjust ratchet
