I dont like cleaner waxes. Thats because, I like using dedicated products, not 2-in-1s or 3-in-1s etc. I like the fact that I can choose my favourite product for each step and define my process according to my situation and liking.
If I need to polish out marring or scratches, I will do a quick 1 step polish and then apply the sealant and wax. If the paint is good enough ( may have slight swirls, but not requiring polishing), I will just go ahead and seal it.
Having said this, I let my car's paint define if it needs to be resealed. I dont put a number out and say I must reseal it every XX months. Detailing is not science sometimes, its more art.
My Accord Euro was waxed last time in Feb '19, when I did a full detailing job (10+ hours) on it. Since then, I have only added protection topup using Beadmaker after wash.
And after washing it last week, I still feel it is protected and its paint is in great condition. But not perfect. And I can live with that, as I can always come back to do a 1 step polish + sealing job on it, when I feel it is required.
I feel the difference is I take a lot of care of my paint, it is not dry dusted, I dont let anyone put anything on the paint, no one leans against my car, and I keep it parked in shade (work and home). In addition, I have invested in my microfibres.
I hope you can understand where I am going with this.
