I am really frustrated with this problem and have spent a lot of money but issue is still there.
I am from Lahore.
I have a honda city Vario 2007 model, mileage is only 67,000 KM.
I bought this in 2010 and don't know what the past owner did with it but there has been the following problems:
With AC ON:
1. On regular fuel of all pumps (total, shell, attock etc) the car starts vibrating and knocking when car is put into R OR D gear with foot on brake pedal.
Car will produce kar kar sound on R while brake is pressed but this sounds then goes away after 5-10 seconds. RPM ALSO drops then rises. ALL WITH AC ON.
Car at a traffic stop when gear is in D and brake is pressed on a signal, the car vibrates and knocks for a bit and then when put on neutral the vibrations/knocking goes away.
When car is put into D again after signal turns Green, the car does kar kar sound for 5 seconds then as accelerates the sound and vibration disappear.
Yes the RPM needle drops and fluctuates at R and D when brake is pressed. The RPM does not stay stable.
This is all with the AC ON. With AC OFF the problem does not exist.
Putting High octane fuel only makes problem better but does not make it go away.
List of work performed so far:
- Throttle body service. tappet tuning. engine oil change, spark plug change.
- The OBD scanner shows problem with TP sensor.
- CVT FLUID changed but still no relief.
I know this problem has been discussed before but what is the resolution? I have gone to Honda Defence, Honda fort, city sales, honda point but no cure found.
Some dealerships are saying valve body replace, some say gear change but its only 67,000 km.
Another mechanic is saying to get PK vario gear from bilal ganj and with labour it would cost 31,000 rupees and he says the issue will resolve but he did a steermatics gear change for similar problem and when i checked it, the problem i have was still there. Mechanic said iska menay rpm set nai kia bla bla bla and his problem was while driving your problem is only with R AND D gear when brake is pressed. hes assuring the problem would go away if i get a bilal ganj gear but i dont know if i should do this.
Ignition coils, the back ones have tape on it, and one mechanic said to first change all ignition coils (it has 8) new one would cost north of 60,000 rs for jus coils, or i could get 8 coils for 2500 rupees from bilal ganj (japan used).
I want to ask ALL vario owners what they did for this problem? Please help man this problem is really annoying. @Xulfiqar
