You are getting highly sentimental/emotional about feel, pleasure, responsiveness and the driver and car acting as one in "synchrony" as if it's a McLaren P1, and not a 1.5 Turbo.
I have driven both 1.8 and 1.5. The only noticeable difference was in acceleration which is logical - and that was it.
Rest everything, i.e. suspension feedback, steering feel, damper/shock rates, braking - basically things that "actually" contribute towards what you expressed above, i.e. feel, pleasure, etc. are the same.
Please lets try and be factual because we can be sure that 1.5 turbo will not "obey" if it ever gets in an acceleration test against let's say a BMW M5?
FYI - 1.8 also obeys what the driver wants just as much.
