man, you make me sad. However, given the circumstances your shared, it is understood. But all the best for your studies, and future plans
Indeed, It will be better, inshaAllah, if you get a decent 2010+ model and make use of your knowledge of parts and experience from this one. One newbie tip, when you are out looking for (any) 2nd Hand car, besides the general checkup of engine and body -- always make sure you ask the owner how the car was maintained , what oils? what lubricants? etc. because, you never know if you are buying a car from person who has some knowledge or someone who only follows what mechanic says.
I'll share the funny and shocking bit when i went for the purchase of my 2007 CX AT. After general inspection, I asked the owner... how are you maintaining the engine lubricants and what grades/quality have you used so far?
Please note that at the time of the purchase, the car had its odo @ 75,000 KMs. only
So he responded, I put Shell HX3 20W-50 and instantly i was like ... I picked up the clue that it seems he doesn't know much about cars. Khair, i bought the car and went to my mechanic, asked him to open up the engine and show me all the oil seals, got them changed, addressed the tappets, drained all old oil, ran into a shell pump, and purchased HX5 10W-40, replaced filter and all -- after all that, apart from minor carb adjustments, car never gave me a chance to put its engine in an operation theater.
