WAPDA power plant on Sheikhupura road has one in yellow.
Saw it getting repaired, was amazed by the availability of modern trucks in Pakistan
Asked my uncle about it, he didn't like it ( He was a professional truck driver, manyyyyyy years back. )
I asked the driver about the Cruise Control, he was " Huh?, what CC, what is that? ". Showed him the stalk and how to function it, he was like; " Aaaaaaha, I've asked many drivers about this, no one has a clue, okay, what exactly does it do? " *10 minutes of Sar Khappay * " Aray wah, jabardast! ".
He knew my uncle, so we decided a time to give me a little ride ( I love trucks btw ), never got a hold of him after that. He wanted me to show him how to use CC, since he wanted to see how to enable / disable it etc. I did tell him the basics- Press the brake to disable, but he wanted a demonstration.
He told me it cost 1.25 Crore for the truck itself and the trailer, well depends on quality and kg of metal / steel, but in total, it turned out to be 1.65 Crore.
My uncle kept complaining about the hard gears in his ancient Nissan Diesel truck, I told him, this FAW one has Synchronizers, ie no double clutching ( Gear out>Neutral>Gear in>repeat ).
InshAllah, once Karachi-Islamabad Motorway is ready, will get hold of one of these
A few pictures ( Took me ageees to find them :P)
