Bro, if Total 10w-40 is Semi Synthetic, with drain interval of ~3500 Kms; why not switch to Total Quartz 9000 Future Series 5w-30? which is Fully Synthetic, and with drain interval of ~5,000 Kms? (and its min., it can easily last even upto 6,000-7,000 Kms, depending on some factors).
I just checked the official prices from Total Parco Pakistan website, cost-to-benefit ratio for 5w-30 is less, in comparison to 10w-40.
FAW Islamabad usually changes engine oil for FAW V2 after every 5,000 Kms interval, you are changing after every ~3500 Kms by your own? or FAW Momentum Motors is recommending & doing this?
Bro, these are all myths. I also used to think this way, but not now, anymore!
Just for reference and as an example; Toyota USA only recommends 5w-30 for 1.5L Yaris, whereas Toyota Japan recommends both 0w-20 and 5w-30 for 1.0L, 1.3L or 1.5L Vitz.
Now USA contains areas as cold as Alaska and as hot as Arizona, or may be; Death Valley!
If they have recommended 5w-30 for 1.5L Yaris, it means that it will work perfectly throughout USA; they will not issue separate owners / user manuals for Alaska, or Death Valley, etc.
Engine oil must be compatible and recommended by the manufacturer / OEM, whether its 0w-20, 5w-30, or any other! And unless / until its necassary, one should stick to thin oil grades, for best milage, performance, pick, power, fuel efficiency, cold start-up, etc.
I think, new engine k sath, iss sey bara zulm nai ho sakta!
Your picture from the owners / user manual confirms that 5w-30 is the most suitable, compatible and recommended oil grade for FAW V2, it is covering both the min. and max. temperature ranges!
Manual is suggesting 5w-30, 10w-30, 15w-40 and 20w-50. 10w-40 is nowehere to be seen.
