I completely agree but something from a half cut vs something much much newer i.e the K20a vs K20c that has zero miles on it and is official does not make sense and even this is considered very expensive states side and not many people bought it. My point is, one should avoid looking for a very specific engine if the cost upsets the whole value proposition, I bet you can easily buy an LS3 in pakistan with import cost and everything for 550k so there is no point at these prices, for example on the nissan platform a bnr33 chassis rb26 costs circa 4200$ (80k miles) after import to the states so import to pakistan should be comparable, the same goes for the rb25 single turbos from the gtst's which are for some reason more expensive.
some times people value things but then the value shoots up to a point where it is just superficial and no one wants to actually buy it, case in point: Honda s2000's (ap1 and ap2) both had a huge surge in demand here and everyone wanted one, so people who bought them for 7-9k were selling them for 16 to 19k, but now the demand has shot upto about 27-28k for a decent used example that is unmolested, so although owners demand that much, poeple no longer want them so value went up but demand died. That is because 20-25k can get you a bmw z3 (comparable model year) or a boxter convertible which obviously is a class above.
