I have the taste of both BRV-IVTEC-S and Honda Freed 2012-7 seater. Both are midrange Honda vehicles but as far as my personal experience, Freed beats BRV with a huge margin.
Plus points of Honda Freed are its fuel consumption due to its Hybrid engine. It does 18-20 km on motorways, while BRV can barely manage 12-14kms. In city former achieves 12-15 kms while the latter does 9-11kms. The newer Hybrid engine of Freed beats the archaic fuel guzzler IVTEC.Freed has got a marvelous soft interior while simply sitting in BRV gives a very cheap taste of low grade plastics.Freed is very very ergonomic as all 6 seats can get folded very easily even by a little teenager and gives a huge rectangular compartment where we have very easily transported huge plasma cvs, fridge , sofa etc due to its very high cabin. We get a very good space in the front with no gear-handbrake in-between the seats and movement between the front and second row is extremely easy due to airplane like aisle system, now me and my wife can swap driving seat without even opening the doors nor disembarking from the car, one can also move freely between front and middle rows. At times we convert the middle front space for the eight seat also. The worst thing of BRV despite being a bigger dimension vehicle is its seats cannot be completely folded and this is a big curse. The last row seats of both MPVs are cramped but Freed has better legroom and much better height at the level of the last row.It has got an extra airbag too.The dash board has two steps which gives a lot of extra space.Due to much higher roof, children can move in the car without stooping. The digital instrument panel looks much better and gives more information than the BRVs traditional speedometer type. Cruise control though at 110km/hr gives pleasure of drive. The automatic non traumatic sliding doors are a treat for car lovers as in tight spaces of over crowded streets of Pakistan, only this feature beats the entire BRV! Inbuilt roof mounted entertainment system relives us of our children interfering in the front row area (though it can be easily fitted in the BRV but mind you the BRV roof is very low and when the 12" inch screen unfolds). It was 5-lakh cheaper than the BRV and mind you taxation in punjab is double on BRV. Its chassis height is much better than Vitz and Aqua doesn't gets touched at speedbrakers with 5-adults onboard.Freed has got a way better ride especially on long routes than the bumpy BRV.Resale value of Freed if not better than is equal because when i went for shopping; out of four showrooms , two tried to sell me BRVs at discounted rates instead.
Plus points of BRV is it is brand new. Its overall more beautiful especially from the back. Its chases height is more suitable for our unpaved roads. Its spareparts are available but are as much costly.
My humble opinion Freed though used and imported is miles ahead of BRV.
