My question is Q5 is also imported under the same duty structure.. how come a product which we know is premium and expensive than Santa FE..almost two times in international market is only a Million more than Santa Fe after import... It does not make sense at all.
They have felt the public criticism as now trying to clean the shady water.. Also the 100 units is not necessarily means they have to make that product locally.. if that was the case then it means Carnival, Starex, Rio, Sportage will be made locally as well.
Keep in mind Hyundai rep himself said..we have 4 vehicles to produce locally. A small SUV, a passanger Car, another small car and thr commercial pickup.
On the other hand, Hyundai also said. Their cars will not be cheap. I appreciate their clarification but I dont understand the purpose of the price tag and later expecting it to sell it..
Santa fe is made in either 2 or 3 plants for global supply.. we all know it will never make it a locally produced product because of market size.. especially if Hyundai already calling it premium.
By the way, the Santa Fe offered in Pakistan has only two front airbags while international in every other country where its sold has front , side and curtain airbags as standard. I don't know why we are getting only 2 in their so called PREMIUM and UNIQUE model , keeping in mind side airbags are very important especially in tall vehicles and SUV's because of higher chances of rollover.
