Brothers here is my word and experience on Orient Inverter AC and after sales service.
Bought 1 ton, Ultron Gold Fin with WiFi, last year in June-18 from Orient's websites, which includes Delivery & Installation. The purchasing, delivery and installation was smooth and nice.
I installed this AC in Guest Bedroom, which is rarely used, and hence only used the AC once or twice in June-18.
The problem unfolds in December 18, when i switched ON the AC for heating, and it was not working. I placed a complaint and the company technician arrived after two days. After checking, he said, "THERE IS NO GAS". I was in shock, that i barely used this AC 1 or 2 times in summer and now there is no gas.
As the AC is in warranty, i asked the technician to fix it, and here comes another shock when he said, "Gas leakage is not covered in warranty", i said the AC is installed by a company, its a new AC, how can a GAS be leaked, whether its a faulty unit or the fitters sent by a company were incompetent. After an argument, he left taking Rs.500 visiting charges (God knows for what) and suggested me to Refill the gas from any nearby shop or I CAN RECOMMEND YOU A GUY, Dis-mantle the AC of your own and Deliver it to customer center, and then we will fix the leakage. THIS IS THE SO CALLED 1 YEAR WARRANTY.
I was very pissed, as i spent Rs.55,000 and this is what i got. So, i wrote a harsh email to the company, and described the whole situation. After five days, i received a call from another company technician that i m assigned to filled the gas in your AC. On his arrival, i asked him to fix the leakage first, else the gas will leak again, and he replied, "In Sha Allah nai nikle ge ab". I was like what, how can the leakage be fixed by self. And then he replied, "I m only assigned to fill the gas, thats it", and he left after refilling the gas.
Winters passed, used the AC few times for heating, worked fine. Now last month, i switch ON the AC for cooling and as expected, the GAS LEAKED again, and there was no cooling. Same story again, placed the complaint, the technician visited, told the same bullshit. I again wrote an email to the company, this time they didn't responded. I placed another complaint, but no response. Finally, i was so pissed that i threatened them that i m going to take a legal action in consumer court.
And it worked and i got a call on next day, the guy said you have to deliver the AC to our customer center by urself, its a company policy and written on warranty card. So after accepting this 1 year shitty warranty terms, i dis-mantle the AC and delivered them. The experience at customer center was very bad, i m skipping that part
After waiting 10 days, i went to receive the AC, and on inquiry on leakage, i got an-other shocking and disappointing response from lab technician that "we have checked and there no leakage at all. The leakage should be in joints", i told them that 2 of our technicians verified at my home that there is no leakage on joints and its internal, that is why i bought it to the lab. Without saying anything further i just took the AC and installed it back.
After so much hassle, i still don't know the reason and cause of leakage, is it fixed or still there. This is what you are buying against so much money to these local company's who doesn't give a shit on after sales or warranty. Stay away from these 12 years warranty or lifetime warranty gimmicks, and try to buy imported units.
