lol... 10% is the first priority, without it we have no chance
well, i dont think production is needed from day 1. I believe that if PROPER marketing is done, people WILL buy gud cars even at higher price, like, some people did buy chevy cruze even though it costed 2.2 mill when civic top of the range was for 1.9 mill. offcourse, if more people were told about the chevy, more sales could have been achieved.
duties are a lot, but some smart planning can get u around them. like, go for a brand that has small but turbocharged engines, like, instead of launching 1000cc cars, u launch 660cc turbo, u get the same power but a lot less custom duty. American cars are much cheaper, so i believe small cars of ford, like focus or other entry level hatchbacks might get gud attention here. i would seriously do it if i had the money.
i think, if cars are just imported, say, first batch of 100 cars, each costing, lets assume, 0.8 mill, its 8 crore in inventory. also assume that 2 showrooms would be company operated in large cities, say 5 crore each for a decent facility, systems, process, employees n other stuff may be 10 crore. so its roughly 28 crore. lets increase it n say 40 crore investment, to be honest, their are people even in my small city, Sargodha, who can easily invest that kinda money, but offcourse, no one is interest as its a risky investment. if a gud business plan is made, banks could lend some percentage, a few partners could start it as a partnership or venture capital could be used. nothing is impossible i believe. it only depends on will. personally, i would feel more proud to own a successful car brand in Pakistan then a few textile mills. but that because im an auto enthusiast, which most people are not!
