GM is more into big SUV and pickups.. even their sub brands like Chevy and Cadillac are focused towards bigger vehicles.. Discontinuation of Chevy Malibu or Cruze is because of market trends towards SUV and pickups.. you can see above how civic , Corolla, accord and Camry sales nose dived in recent years..
I know many people in family and social circle who owns koreans models and I can tell you.. after 2 years of ownership.. you will start hearing a lot of squeezing, plastic noise. The first thing you will NOTICE how the doors , hood and trunk closes and make a different noise over time. The plastic quality is also just so so..
Compare a base Sonata with a base Camry or Accord.. or base Elantra with base civic or Corolla.. touch and feel it.. Honda has improved alot and stays ahead then Toyota and then Koreans..
Again.. the main thing is how good the PKDM varaints would be.. quality of fit and finish.. features and saefty equipment.. right now we are looking at international models and making our expectations.. but problems start when things are assembled locally.. cur down on features , safety and quality control.. I hope and wish this is not the case with koreans for our market.
