Kia Cerato is available internationally with a 2.0L MPI naturally aspirated 150hp engine or a 201hp 1.6L TGDI engine with DCT same as in Elantra sports and some other kia and Hyundai models
Now question is , will Kia or Hyundai ever take a risk of introducing a turbo engine with DCT?
They have seen the fate of Civic turbo and Hyundai officials already have shown concerns about fuel. I am sure they dont want risky warranty claims and expensive liabilities as soon as they start local operation
So we are left with a 2.0L engine option only. In case of Elantra there is a 1.6L non turbo engine.
Do you think our market is ready for a 2000cc sedan? Especially of people are always concerned with fuel economy and overheads like token and other administrative expense.. although the fuel economy figures might not be that different.
I think Kia might not be introducing a Cerato in start. We will hopefully see Elantra. Just my thought.
