I've visited KIA showroom and saw Picanto. Although I didn't like the pricing at all but have to say, the quality looks far better than Suzuki alternatives.
I think KIA shouldn't be judged based on its repute vis a vis Japanese companies internationally. Pakistan is a different ball game altogether. Here the big 3 have gradually but consistently deteriorated the quality of parts assembled in every new model over the past decades. KIA does not look like doing that at least now. The quality of paint alone in KIA Sportage for example shows its far ahead than that done in Civic by Honda Atlas.
The big 3 may make their prices equivalent to that of KIA based on their respective repute internationally, but better comparison should be with the local managements and practices of Pak Suzuki, Atlas and Indus as I'm pretty sure the quality they are churning out these days won't be acceptable anywhere else in the world.
