Well where did I say don't welcome the new comers?.
I have just given the statistics.. Also I gave an example for US for the fact, that it is one of the single largest market and I asked the reason that with lower pricing and more feature , why the consumer dont buy Kia and Hyundai in same numbers ? I mean why someone will not buy KIA Or Hyundai if it's cheaper and have more features and in North America? Also with lower interest rates in financing and cheaper if you lease.
Why the Kia Or Hyundai for a cheaper price and with lot of incentives and top class reliability rating in US as you said dont sell in same numbers ? KIA and Hyundai always refer to US rating/ JD Power reliability for their quality but in the same market they dont sell..
it is confusing that with top class rating, consumer still preferring other brands/ models in US. Santa FE has won the award from JD power, but its Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander consumer prefer and same applied in other car segments.
Additionally the discussion thread you are using has been started by me so that we can discuss the new entrant.
I think you are new here and never followed me on this forum and social media. I am sure people who followed me or follow , they know how I have been targetting the current car makers for having low quality, safety and features.
Yes many people will not have problem with discontinued Picanto, but I have a problem with it because it does not make KIA different from the rest of the brands. Bringing something new in the market is good but bringing something which is dead overseas does not make sense to me. I mean If today Honda brings a City with all features and equipment and a discontinued Model, will you buy it.. NO not at all.. Apply same analogy here.
The new car entrants got tax incentives to bring new and better things to market and inline with international markets, if they are taking tax incentives and dont bring new stuff , then what's diffrent? . In other words, will you buy a brand new unopened item with an expired date ? No you will not.
Kia started assembly line erection when dollar was much lower priced, their intention was to bring older generation from the get go.. Why our consumer should be treated and blessed with older model? Why our consumer should be treated low and with expired models ?
The older Picanto was in KIA PK pipeline since 2017 when the plant erection started. I have criticized Picanto model specifically.. NOT KIA in general.. so please dont mix two things.
In the end I would say, no one is against any new car companies, we all should welcome them but If the plan is that they would exploit the market, become part of cartel , do price fixing and offer products not inline with international markets, then they are not different.
My reply above is to make clarification, responding to this comment in favor or against it, is everyone's own discretion but let's keep the thread for Picanto discussion.
Thx
[ Even with better pricing, features, top JD power rating and whatever, US sales]
