And now up for another smart modification from tomorrow inshallah.
Since i have fixed the tall B3 in it, the vehicle was compromising on certain basic elements. Some of the negative observations were,
1. The front diff was too close to the oil chamber. Rather needed some cutting of chamber too.
2. The front stock leafs were only 39" long. The drive was hard.
3. The steering box was exactly on top of the tube and had the "end arm" towards the rear, so was not aligned with the tyre end. It had a tilted steering rod. Will share pics.
4. As i made another bumper in the front, to accommodate the lift jack and a winch in future too, the approach angle got effected.
So after giving it a deliberate thought and some calculations, i have decided to do the following changes.
1. Got new leaf springs, same width, 49" instead of the existing 39".
2. Got another power steering box having the "end arm" towards the front.
Now what i am going to do is that i will replace the leaf springs in a way that the rear fitting will remain the same. The front will be moved forward as i have space to adjust. The tube will move 5" forward as the leaf spring difference is 10". With this, since the tube and diff will move forward, the chance of diff hitting the oil chamber will be eliminated. The steering rod line will automatically be corrected. A longer leaf spring will ensure more travel and more comfort.
Lets hope for the best and stay tuned for the pics.
