As far as i heard they only allow limited number to be killed which does not affect the extinction of the animal. Each year they only allow a very limited quantity and bid on the price to earn revenue.
No idea who gets the revenue where it goes etc
"Trophy Hunting" and this article touches the concept briefly but there is alot more to it and it is claimed to be beneficial to the breed and local community, https://tribune.com.pk/story/1854882/1-shooting-permit-three-markhor-trophy-hunting-licences-go-rs10m/
Markhor hunting is granted through a bidding process and money collected from bids is to be used for local people and markhor breeding. The "local wildlife department" select's a markhor which is old and will probably die in one or two years and the hunter can only hunt that specific Markhor. However I do not believe that the money is used for local people!
Teophy hunting is allowed.they kill only old animals and the money goes to the village community
Do you knowwhole villages up North got electricity powered by solarand all the money for it came from trophy hunting
on the other hand markhoor might be easier to breed then Bustard bird the sheikhs come to hunt here
in short we need the money
The topic should then read "hunted a haramkhor" - rather than markhor
you made my day
LOL, in fact, you should charge money for this service
Ha Ha Ha! Good one Bro
Calm down Tintin Baba. Its called sustainable hunting and some of the members have explained the concept above. Please note, MONEY DOES GO TO THE COMMUNITY. In fact now the locals are the biggest conservators. The moment they spot outsiders they encircle you (virtually within minutes) and if they find a gun or other hunting paraphernalia on you, you have had it..... This also goes for other places in Pakistan. Just try and roam alone in Kirthar National Park (huge population of Urial & Sindh Ibex), then see the reaction of the locals....
The markhor: Between a majestic animal and an economic asset, https://www.dawn.com/news/1464012/the-markhor-between-a-majestic-animal-and-an-economic-asset
Our religion only allows killing animals only for the purpose of consuming it. Hunting for leisure/pleasure should be stopped. Gov should be investing money itself for preservation of these animals instead of taking money from licenses. 100,000 dollars is not a big amount on gov level.
It is called trophy hunting. Please search that. Last time I checked, it was also allowed in USA.
Can someone explain how trophy hunting can be good for endangered animals or for breeding ?
