Congratulations!
You can bet on it.
iPhones are like Nexus, highly optimised, quick software support with long term support. Despite of a 2012 flagship, it still runs latest iOS with great stability, very smooth with very minimum (negligible) stutters, hanging or hiccups for its age. Its still very much usable for day to day tasks and even plays Asphalt 8 smoothly and with very good graphics.
If you look at its 2012 Android rival Galaxy S3. It is barely usable even for basic day to day tasks, buggy, laggy, runs outdated software etc and in short, a mess.
Apple is Apple, no doubt. But Apple releases very few models, so it can take care of its older models. In Android, one OEM has so many newer models to take care of, so its barely possible for them to keep optimising software for outdated devices.
