AGS is just a manual transmission with an automated clutch.
The only issue AGS faces is that the clutch actuator gets heated when there are repetitive gear changes.
For example when stuck at a traffic jam on a hot day the transmissiom has to shift between gear 1 and gear 2 again and again. This can lead to malfunction.
The same situation can happen on a very steep ascent where the gear changes are happening every other minute.
If you pull it to manual mode in both the above scenarios there will be no issue.
