Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has expanded its operations by fetching the details of Islamabad registered vehicles from the respective excise department to enforce e-challan compulsion.
According to the details, Islamabad excise department was reached out to collect the data of its vehicles and the process was completed successfully. Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) is keen to enforce its electronic challan system on vehicles other than those registered in Punjab only. Moreover, PSCA is also looking forward to collecting the data of vehicles from other provinces so that all vehicles could be issued e-challans in Lahore. Their latest move means that commuters with Islamabad registered vehicles will also find themselves in the PSCA’s radar from next week onwards. The violators will receive their e-challan tickets on their address as mentioned in their vehicle registration data. The department issues e-challan under the Motor Vehicle Ordinance 1965 rules. The CCTV cameras are installed across the provincial capital to discourage the violation of traffic rules. Moreover, the surveillance operations are monitored at the headquarters of PSCA in Lahore. The installation of CCTV cameras also ensures the safety and security of the citizens. The violators can submit their e-challan in any branch of Bank of Punjab and National Bank of Pakistan. A couple of months ago, the department also added HBL, MCB, and UBL to its receipts of e-challan payment.
Recently, PSCA has also expanded its operations to Kasur with the installation of as many as 450 CCTV cameras due to an increasing number of cases related to crime, security, and kidnapping in the city. Their operation will be monitored around the clock and the law enforcement agencies are playing their vital part in reducing such incidents.
So, if you are commuting in an Islamabad registered vehicle on the roads of the provincial capital, beware because the cameras are keeping an eye on you as well. Follow the traffic rules and limit your speed to 60 km/h on roads other than Canal road and Mall road where the speed limit is 70 km/h for LTVs. Avoid frequent lane change, fasten seat belts and follow the traffic signals on every junction. It keeps you away from paying unnecessary fines and helps in a smooth flow of traffic in the safest possible way. Being a civilized citizen, it’s our responsibility to cooperate with the law enforcement agencies for our own safety.
