Bro, I have learned driving on Mehran ( I believe it is very close to FX ).
I think there are some good reasons for starting learning on cars like Mehran and FX, which are not even
present in new cars of similar category ( Mira, Alto, ESSE, etc ).
As I have driven Mehran, I will list some of the possible benefits that are likely in FX:-
(i) Small:-
FX only has a longer bonnet but I think it won't matter much.
(ii) Cheap:-
New drivers can be more confident if they drive a car which won't cost much for damage.
(iii) Driving:-
I believe the drive of both Mehran and FX is 'feel' oriented, as you can feel the acceleration,
engine revs, as well as road roughness much more than many new cars. It can also give
you a very good sense of car speed, which seems to be less in new cars, as in new cars you
need to keep an eye on speedometer to keep track of speed.
I think FX also has a 796 cc engine, so you are likely to have good power when learning. I believe nowadays
normally cars of that category come with lesser power, in 660 range.
Although, these are some benefits, but there are some obvious disadvantages to learn on outdated vehicles:-
(i) They lack safety:-
FX not has seatbelts, airbags, crash-test body. A learner can do a bad hit in worst case scenario, and this can
be critical in this car.
(ii) They may be irrelevant:-
If you want to drive an automatic, you may waste much time mastering gear-shifts.
