A basic Audio Upgrade on a friend's Swift DLX
Plan was to install a 7" Pioneer AVH4450bt (bought 2nd hand from a seller on olx) so it can accomodate a rear view camera plus improve the audio quality as well compared to the generic factory installed Automate system. The correct suzuki wiring harness was soldered to the pioneer wiring harness with heatshrinks
The facia was bought from China (aliexpress). Its the wrong color but it'll get wrapped and the edges smoothened out too a bit later
Finally, the speakers. All 4 factory speakers were shot. I'm surprised they lasted almost 10 years. They are made completely out of plastic, thin paper cone with a Magnet the size of a pea. "Made for techno" is a great selling point for these bad boys
Anyways, keeping the 10k budget in mind for the speakers, opted to go with the 2-way Nakamichi NSF-623 Coaxials at the front and grabbed some beefier factory Toyota 2 way coaxials for the rear. The front stage was important so the rears are just there to help in the surround sound staging
The Nakamichi vs the factory speakers
And a look at the construction of the Toyota factory speaker going into the back doors
Once all the door cards were removed, used 2 sheets of sound deadening to cover the areas around the speakers and behind it too (1/2 a sheet for each door application). This is a great way to stop the metal from vibrating around the speakers while not covering the entire door.

Also went ahead and put in some noise dampening CCF behind the the 4 speakers
The brackets for the front coaxials were first aligned with the speaker holes. Counter sink screw holes were made so the screws would sit well into the bracket itself. A thin layer of speaker foam was used between the bracket and metal
The extended speaker wires were soldered into the oe wires, heatshrinked and the original tube was pulled over it. This complete wire was then covered in tessa tape including the original connector and ziptied so it won't rattle about in the door.
Finally, we had the speakers installed. Grabbed some foam tape to sandwich between the bracket and the speaker. Another layer of foam was cut to act as a fastring (the exact height of the oe speaker so the foam wouldn't roll on itself when the doorcards were installed). This helps pushing the music out of the door rather than it getting lost inside

The quality of the audio has been transformed. It's definitely not a high end sq build but a few small upgrades can make a hell of a difference. Clear sound, great midbass and the front stage has changed the way he used to listen to music. The fader is set to 8 front meaning the rears aren't being pushed. For a 35wrms coaxials, the nakamichis are great speakers when matched up to a decent headunit
