So here is the short list of things that need improvement in the Toyota Fortuner 2017. Most expensive locally manufactured passenger vehicle of Pakistan. Its driven 1700 kms in 50 days on carpeted roads of Lahore.
1-The gap between pillar and dashboard, right side is fine though
2-Notice the gap between steering column and meter panel, its not aligned properly. The cover feels rotated
3-Notice the fitting difference of both doors hence creating this difference in top area and chrome strip both. Also probably because of this the gap of both doors isn't equal from top and bottom
4-Its just been less than 2 months and the chrome on headrest is already coming off with traces of rust underneath
5-This undershield beneath steering isn't set from one side and perfect from the other
6-The cool box lid doesn't fully close from one side and as a result it offers vibration at certain RPM between 1500-2000 even on plain roads. Will try to share a video of the vibration.
7-The garnish isn't fitted properly on one side and has a gap behind which isn't as much on the other side
8-The rear camera decides as per it mood to show a blank screen and no matter what you do (restart car etc) it doesn't want to work when it doesn't want to
9-The rear passenger area sill shield is flimsy and doesn't set properly on left side
10-The door panels on both front doors have a gap behind them from the frontal area. I agree it isn't visible unless you try to see it but still, this shows care, quality and attention being lacked
11-The bolt cover plastic trim on 3rd row seatbelt is loose and decides to comeoff itself every few days. So either it needs a tap or next step will be use of elfy to stop it coming off again and again
12-The wonderful Orange Peel and dullness in paint finish.
13-Probably another bi-product of No.7 added with misaligned tail gate: notice the uneven panel gap above tail light and misaligned chrome strip
14-The hood gap/groove as it bends upward
15-The undercarriage seems to be gray primer in a lot of places and no coating above that primer. I might he wrong
16-The left side pillar trim
17-The worst part was: my steering was at an angle of 15 degrees right when the car was going straight. I raised the issue at dealership and they said its alignment issue which cannot be fixed under warranty and you will have to pay for this. But my argument was: its not my fault this car is here from the factory with a misaligned steering. After a lot of fuss they agreed and turned out it wasn't just alignment but a 3 hour job which included alignment and some proper bolt tightening related to steering rack or something.
Overall its a good product and I am grateful to Allah for having it. Its a good value for money but I wish these tiny careless mistakes were not there.
And INDUS: I just don't get the elimination of a Push Start button from a car of this price which is there now in your less than half priced Grande. Shame on you for leaving it just for the heck of adding it later and advertise it as an upgraded feature.
@fazalwahab11375 I hope other members also come up with their observations. People need to stop the thinking of I will stay ignorant and not point out anything about my car because I bought and its flawless in my head
This is a car that costs 5.4 million and 5.9 million On road after registration, taxes and insurance
