Hi! AOA. Anyone experiencing engine knocking at cold start up for 2~3 minutes,
- Replace or clean your fuel injectors! Use STP Fuel Injector cleaner at least 2 times.
- Make sure your Intake Manifold is clean and not filled with oil. (Prius 3rd Generation has 2 PCV valves, the bottom one pushes oil vapors back into Intake Manifold that makes EGR and Catalytic Converters dirty and results in Poor Economy and Premature Tune ups)
- PLEASE INSTALL AN OIL CATCH CAN!!! ASAP BETWEEN PCV PIPE and INTAKE MANIFOLD

Do all the above, and if your battery pack is not worn out, you'll get these figures:
1. 21~22 kpl at 105km/h HIGHWAY
2. 19~19.5 kpl at 120km/h HIGHWAY
3. 22~22.5 kpl Normal Conservative Driving CITY
4. 19.5~20 kpl Aggressive Normal Driving CITY
And sometimes if your car is pre-warmed and there's no traffic you can get 25kpl+ in City as well.

All this is possible if your Fuel Injectors are clean as a whistle! Believe me. Toyota claims Prius doesn't require Higher Octane fuel and that's true! but our fuel quality destroys injectors and their spray pattern get's bad and as a result your engine's BHP reduces. Plus, DO INSTALL OCC! Please.
I was trying to fix my knocking issues, I do everything DIY style at my home. As my last try to fix the knocking issues, I cleaned injectors using CARB SPRAY, a 12V battery, a Hose Pipe, I built pressure using Carb Spray with hose connected to one fuel injector at a time and shorted with 12V battery this made the injector spray carb cleaner liquid and right after installing the injectors it was about 5 Degrees outside in Allama Iqbal Town at around 4 AM in the morning (LOL Yes, I was fixing my car in my office's garage during the night) some time in this January, there was no knock. It hasn't knocked since then!
I'll share OCC installed pictures as well soon! It does catch a lot of oil though and my intake is so clean and EGR and Catalytic Converted and the exhaust tip as well!
