One 17th july saw an add on Facebook about trek from Kumrat Velly to chitral and that group was leaving on the night of 20th july. I had no previous knowledge about that area and as i was going through my exams so i couldn't do any research about that trek. Paid the advance but there was a fear in my mind that would i be able to do this. It was a six day trek and i had never done any trekking of more than 3 hours in my life. What i was going to do about the 15kg bag. But i had to do it. It was 9 day tour with 6 days of trekking. My mobile pedometer showed the distance of 110km but according to the organisers we did total of 95km. The Max Altitude was 4400m. There were 5 lakes on the trek of which Bashkar Gol lake was the mightiest. Passed through 4 Meadows (Bandas) and they were the most beautiful I've ever been to. Hopefully I'll keep posting day by day with narration and Pic. That trek was the hardest experience of my life but also the best.
Pakistan is so beautiful, I wish i could do trekking... but age does not allow.

Day one was our journey From Rawalpindi to Thall which is a small town in Upar dir. Night stay was at some small cabin. Next morning We travelled from thall to Kumrat valley where jeeps droped us off. The First day of trekking was the easiest one and we did total of 9.3km in 6 hours. Stayed at Issglo Banda in a mosque which is the last human settlement in Kumrat. After that its all Wilderness. Thats The Thall Town
Wonderfull
Absolutely wonderful experience, and this is my dream too. One day i am going to complete this...Hats off for your efforts. I have been to Kumrat and trek where those Bandas start. But after that i am looking forward what you are going to share next
Wow.... a great experience for you as well as the readers. Waiting for ALL DETAILS with NARRATED PICTURES. It would be a wonderful thread I am sure.
Wow, 95 km in 6 days great job man, Awesome images, please share the complete details. And with which Tour operator you went ? and how was the arrangements ?
Day 2. The trek started to get steeper on 2nd day and we gained the altitude of 600 metres from campsite day 1 to Thallo Pass Base Camp. The weight in the bag started to take its toll but all was forgotten when we started going through most beautiful place I've ever been Sheroz Banda. Lush Green Meadows with only sound of water and wind. The serenity of that place is indescribable. I lost some part of myself in that meadow. If you can't attempt the complete trek you should atleast consider trekking till Sheroz Band which is hardly 7 to 8 hours of trekking from the start, camp there for a night. Up next was incline of 30 degrees with huge boulders. The glacier at the end gave me some scare when it started to make cracking noises. At the end of trek it started to rain and my bag and clothes in it got dampened. With freezing temperature and altitude of 3600m it was tha toughest night of the trek as i can remember the feeling of suffocation and extreme cold.
You should try it next year. June july is the best time before or after that is going to be cold.
The group is called The Mountaineers Pakistan. Not a very experienced or professional group. They charged us a very minimal amount of 22k. The arrangements were average and there was mismanagement regarding food. Couple of times we had nothing to eat at night after whole day of trekking and a boiled egg in morning. At the end they ran short of money and it was quite embarrassing.
well this is very sad.. 22k is too much money bro........
Wow nice effort bro its really nice too see trekking stuff in Pakwheels
22K is not cheap ,, thek thak handsome amount hai or is mai bahtreen kism ka trip hota hai ... 6 days trip to shorter trip hai... phir b mismanagement or food issue so pathetic...
