No, you misunderstand my point. If VW's marketing efforts are in tune with Pakistani consumers, and provided their 3S support extends to the areas where their target market resides, they can be a success. Brands do not become a success overnight.
The problem with most Pakistani companies is that they don't focus on market research - which is why they crash and burn.
And why not? Have you held one in your hands? It's as heavy as a brick. Now what does this tell you about the average uninformed Pakistani consumer? If an appliance is heavy, or to use a better desi term - "Salid," it is perceived as high quality. Most modern irons are light and plasticky - which seems low quality to the average Pakistani who already has his mind made up on "Salid" quality.
Now, have you seen marketing efforts done to dispel the preconceived notion Pakistanis have regarding irons?
