if we go bit deeper in the study of these engine oils, then you can find that all of them are of obsolete grade. This is only because motor bikes in pak are of very old technology engines and hence use older grade oils.
Mostly available oils of bikes are
API SL
API SM
API SG
API SJ
even
API SF grades.
Just for records, the last two new grades are
API SM (from 2004 - 2010)
API SN (from 2010 - till present).
but these grades are not recommended in the bike engines. Hence SL, SJ or SG Grade oils are good.
Now for viscosity, in bikes, only the recommended viscosities are
10/40
15/40
20/40 (very few)
&
20/50
all purely mineral oils. In pak. the bike engines are made to use mineral oils and never ever feed any synthetic oil. Otherwise it may bring many severe conditions for engine.
Some people use zic a+ 5/20 in bikes. But this is highly not recommended. But their engines are new and hence they keep using that. But soon after pay lot of money to mechanics to overhaul their engines.
using LM in bikes would be expensive. Isnt it?
