Depends on your definition of a nice car. It's a terrible car if you look at it objectively and compare its ride quality and issues. For 5 lacs i could've bought a mitsubishi lancer, now that's a great car. Or for a 1 lac more, a 1999 honda civic. All great cars.
I bought a 2004 suzuki baleno thinking the parts will be cheap and hey it's a sedan so it will be nice and resale value compared to mitsubishi. Boy, was i wrong.
It's a nice car if you're coming from driving a mehran all your life and have extremely low expectations for cars.
People think mehrans are nice cars but the objective reality is they're crap cars that shouldn't have existed after 90s or at the very least 2000s and they're still in production.
I had high expectations from the car and i got properly screwed over. Had i bought a mehran at least i could've sold it without any loss. Bought the baleno for 4 lacs 90 thousands, almost a 1 million rupees plus more on repairs in the four years later, several accidents on account of its shitty brakes later, i sold it for 1 lac 70 thousands and i pity the guy who bought it.
It's a terrible terrible car for someone who doesn't know what the issues in this car are and where you can get the parts from, which parts are good and have trustworthy mechanics. The visibility is terrible and i don't know why is that, maybe the windshield is poor quality, i don't know and it has always baffled me. Maybe the seating position.
You need to use racing grade spark plugs, wires, coils that cost a lot for the good ones and only last a few months. The suspension doesn't last long on bad roads for long and you should be prepared for the horrible clutch. If you are a bodybuilder, don't do legs exercises in gym, just drive this car and your legs will become strong.
And the AC is a joke.
So it's not really a nice car if you know what makes a nice car. If you're going to rate it nice because it can take you from point a to point b and you don't care how you travel then sure, it's a nice car. Even a mehran is a nice car then, I've heard from taxi drivers that it's cng efficient and durable lol
