I started by ensuring the engine was warm to touch.
Managed to cover the exposed electrical components on the right side of the engine bay by using a plastic sheet. I just realised that I didn't take a picture, when I covered the electrical components, but for your information, I only covered the area marked in red below:

Once covered, I washed it down by using the pressure washer, starting from the inside of the hood, including the hood liner, the engine bay, the inner linings of the engine bay etc.
I sprayed 4-1 diluted APC on all the bits and bobs, and managed to soak it completely in the solution. I left the solution standing for a couple of minutes, before I picked up my engine bay brushes and started scrubbing different engine parts. I usually start from the center of the engine and work outwards. I had to spray some parts twice to get the grime off.
Once satisfied, I pressure washed the engine bay again to my satisfaction. Once washed, I removed the plastic sheet from the electrical components and fired up the engine to help it dry itself. I allowed the engine to run for about 15-20 minutes, while I was washing wheels. When I returned to the engine, it was mostly dry.
