This is going to be a long mad weekend.
So a couple of weeks back, I decided to detail my Accord Euro CU2. This was going to be a mega effort project, as the Accord is my daily driver, so it needed to be completed in short period of time, and secondly, I didn't want to compromise on work.
Realistically, that means I only have a weekend to finish the job, as I would need the car back on Monday. Check.
That also means that I have to plan the job strategically to make the most of the time to allow washing, drying, 1 or 2 Step polishing, and protection. Every stage has its own challenges.
For example, I like to wash the car and dry it overnight, so all water falls off or dries. So when I hit the car with polish, the water does not splatter anywhere to surprise me.
I also like to allow the Sealant to cure before I apply second and subsequently third coat etc... Sealants need curing time.
Weather is another variable. I don't like working during very hot or high humidity conditions. As that plays a role in detailing results. Some techniques also need to be changed to adjust to different weather.
