I own a 2017 Civic Turbo. Sometime, I feel it is a
bit too fast for Karachi roads. We have owned every Corolla since the
Japanese Indus that was sold by Indus back in the day and this is very
first Civic of our family. I average about 12.5-13km/l city and highway
combined. 10.5 for city and about 16-17 for highway on PSO's 97 ron
(Karsaz or 3 talwar) company operated one. She's on Michelin Primacy 4,
Made in Spain. This is the car not to be driven on General's, BG luxo's
cost about 3k each before fitting and 2.5k each for B grade before
fitting directly from Suriya.
I also own 2018 Altis 1.6 with Yokohoma Advans. Everything is so
perfect but the only thing I miss is softer ride of the corolla,
facelift altis has lesser road noise and when Civic goes in bumps,
discomforting noise to hears. I guess, that's how you can only get a
better grip on higher speeds which Corolla does not offer. I wish Turbo
get's a relaunch and i can buy one off the shelf as a zero for 3.5m.
That's a gem of an engine in it. Hard to find mint Turbo in used market.
It's like a modern girlfriend that you want to have but of course, she
was driven well for sure.
Usual maintenance parts are pretty close to corolla Altis. Fender for
16k, 8k for bumper, 8k for front grill, shock for 3800 pkr but some SRS
related parts incl. SRS unit costs 59k and seat belts cost about 38000
each before parts discount by dealership. P/S airbag is about 26k while D/S airbag is about 62k. I literally love my Civic because full torque is throughout the power band starting 1700rpm on wards to 5500rpm. Eco mode in turbo is more like a normal one in 1.8 which i feel is torque less in early power band.
try to buy a low mileage car as everyone who buys one would step on that paddle. The spark plugs get black after 20k which is a bummer. After long drives, let the engine cool a bit and then turn off. Although, new turbo cars doesn't need this cool downs but just in case else you may witness knocking if the car is not cooled down even with 97 ron.
