Sold my 2022 Legender (which I bought brand new) after it developed transmission issues at only 6,000 km. The vehicle would shake/shudder when you press the accelerator pedal a little harder from stopped position and I also felt reduced acceleration. Also when cruising between 50-60 km/h, the rpm would suddenly drop and you start hearing gooon gooon noise, the vehicle also shakes a little with the noise.
Dealership test drove the vehicle and agreed that there is a problem, but they only did tuning with computer which didn't fix anything. They said that someone from Indus Motor Company will have to come and test the vehicle.
Based on the symptoms I pinpointed the issue with the torque converter. The issue is commonly known as "toque converter shudder". And this issue can lead to transmission failure if not fixed. Even if they fixed the issue under warranty, they would have to disassemble the transmission (and maybe lift the engine) to replace the torque converter. So I just sold the vehicle.
I then bought brand new GR-S, and after driving for only 50 km it developed the same fault, and on top of above two symptoms it was also shaking violently when I braked at high speed (100+ km/h), maybe a warped rotor? I returned the vehicle to the dealership since it was still brand new.
Really disappointed with the poor quality of Toyota.
