Further on fuel consumption. it stayed around 10KM/lit during summers with AC single person on board, but as winter approached it gained 2 KM/ lit since I was not using AC.
However, I decided to take a trip from Islamabad to Lahore via motorway recently.
Configuration. 2 passengers my self and my wife. A total of 10 Kgs luggage. This time I got tank full of V Power from shell.
As I accelerated to 120 KM on motorway RPM rose to 2600 and ECO light went off, fuel consumption dropped to less than 10KM about 9.8 KM on fuel computer. I was not pleased at all as I thought it would do at least 13-14 KM on highway.
The worst part was that as I was approaching Lahore I was low on fuel and at one point I thought it would not reach Thokkar Niaz beg the entry point to Lahore. anyway I managed to exit motorway with uncomfortable feeling. On exit of motor way i straight headed for gas station.
In my lifetime experience i have not driven a car ( old or new, small or medium ) which would not do 345 KM comfortably without AC in a tank full.
On return journey I opted to travel by G T Road, driving at less than 100 KM/hr being a speed limit. Despite traffic and frequent braking it gave me around 15KM/ lit. I reached Rawalpindi in Half tank. ( the distance is also less than motorway )
Lesson learnt. drive it less than 100 KM / hr and keep the Eco light on which you will get on RPM less than 1900. Choice is yours.
Any one else having similar experience of Highway?
