On the road price even for the FWD crosses the 5 million Psychological barrier. Also most of the buyers are financing it which makes the car further expensive. Although those factors also applies to other vehicles as well.
People were not buying Turbo Civic when it was even 3.5 Million around a year or so ago and Honda will have hard time even selling the newly released Turbo Oriel.
The current inflation and financial uncertainty has stopped people from spendings. Corolla , Civic sales are down not because of Sportage but because of the price.
I am sure most of the owners who bought Sportage now would have bought the Sportage if Grande or Civic was even 1.5 Million cheaper. Small percentage of buyers who had 5 Million switched to Sportage instead of Civic.
Yes there is no question about it that Sportage is better but sticker price does not convert many buyers from Civic / Corolla.
In another case the price does not matter when we talk about the DFSK Glory. Its CBU though chinese , have good features and saefty equipment and have a price parallel to Civic and Corolla but buyers are skeptical because of new entrant and very limited dealers network.
Again its my opinion and I respect everyone's opinion. I hope things get better.
