When my wife decided to drive our 2018 new Swift last year i , i decided to buy an used 2011 Wagon-R as a beater/daily driver car for myself. I drove to a Maruti-Suzuki TrueValue used car outlet and purchased a 2011 Wagon R Vxi (top model) in good running condition for 2.0 lacs INR. I paid another twenty thousand for registration and bringing the car upto snuff a bit and was happy with my purchase. Over the months since Feb 202, i have replaced two tires, put in a new battery and lately gave the car a paint job. The car looked spiffy and i was liking it till tragedy struck.
The car was sideswiped while parked by a garbage truck one fine day late December . The car was fixed but the front passenger door just wouldn't lock or would get stuck and came unhinged while the vehicle was moving. It happened to my Mrs. twice and that's when she put the proverbial wife foot down and insisted i buy another car and not an used one but new.
Given budgetary considerations i finally decided to get a new model Wagon-R but this time with the 1.2 liter Swift engine in it. Thankfully the dealer had a silky silver 1.2 Liter VXi model in stock and i am awaitiing delivery this week. I did consider the Honda Jazz and Renault Triber but the Wagon-R won for being the most compact even though the new model has bloated up in comparison with the previous model
Below is the last pic taken of my 2011 Wagon-R before damage occurred.
Attached is the invoice of my new Wagon-R with 2021 registration even though manufactured in 2020. I have wiped out any info that has no relevance to my post as dealer name /address etc. as i have not asked them for permission to post. Total cost for 1.2 liter car INR 5,93,235 on-road., approx. 50,000 inr more for the larger engine!
Below is an youtube video of the same specification Wagon-R that i'm buying. Added fog lamps and black side guard as accessories for 7,000 INR , which i think is excessive at the dealer.
Hoipefully, later this week i will post delivery and other pics of the car. Wish me Luck!
