I think there is huge misconception. I own a 660 cc turbo jimny with manual gear from last 3 and half years. It is giving me
around 12 km/liter in city (urban roads of Lahore)
around 10 km on motorway (I drive it around 90km/h on motorway)
around 13, 14 km/liter intercity or you can say on motorway if I travel below 80km/h.
I have been to following destinations on it in last 3 and half years.
- Gilgit, Ghizar, Yasin Valley, Shandur, Chitral, Kalash
- Astore, Rama, Tarshing, Rupal, Deosai
- Dir, Kumrat
- Dirkot, Lasdana, Haji pir pass (AJK)
- Babusar Top, Naran etc
- Kalam, Mahudand, Bayyon, Malam Jabba
- Panjpir Rocks
And these trips include all kinds of roads like motorway, intercity roads, regular jeep tracks, and rough jeep tracks where you can not go beyond 2nd gear. Overall average during the whole trip like lahore-deosai-lahore or lahore-shandur-lahore which includes all these kind of different roads never got below 10km/liter.
As far as pajero mini is concerned, I think its quite heavier in weight than jimny but I am not sure. I too have heard horrible stories about fule average of mini pajero.
660 cc jimny owners, please share your experiences about fuel average so that people can know about the right picture.
