Asalamualaikum valued readers and contributors. Writing this post for your much needed advice, input, and opinion on Suzuki swift 2011 DX.
HISTORY
The car under discussion is a White 2011 Suzuki Swift DX. Which has seen better days in the past. The car currently has 280,000 kms on the dash and is supposedly on the original engine. The paint below the roof is not original, the shell is intact but has had a lot of fender benders throughout its life.
The oil used for the last 3 years is Shell 10-40 with Guard or Suzuki filters and it burns around 1.5 liters of oil to go 5000kms and has no visible smoke.
Compression test values: Between 90 to 95 psi on each cylinder tested separately.
CURRENT ISSUES
[1] It was running okay till last year but suddenly developed the issue of gurgling from the radiator on turning off the engine which was solved initially by cleaning the radiator and changing the radiator cap, the issue was fixed for a couple of months and then came back on long drives again the needle used to climb to H and water would boil and gurgle in the expansion tank and the radiator. As the car would shut off and turn back on after 2 minutes it would get back to normal and then do the same after a while. The gasket was checked on visual inspection of bubbles in the radiator which did not appear but the car used to decrease water. The final conclusion came up to be a rusty water inlet pipe to the block also containing the thermostat valve, the thermostat valve was also replaced but this too did not solve the issue and hence taking out the thermostat valve solved the issue partially but the car ran quite rough after that.
[2] The car has been heated to the poin where it dried the radiator couple of times but still has not mixed oil and water neither does it throw water out from the radiotor or the foaming and bubble formation, but it does reduce water it has run on water since the last decade so the cooling system is quite rusted as seen from its coolant pipes the radiator and previous thermostat housing.
[3] The transmission has a weird noise usually heard in old taxis Mehran etc.
[4] The bodywork is quite off with a lot of bondo etc and some rust appearing now through that Bondo as its cracking.
[5] The OEM windshield has got a crack that is increasing and running in length day by day.
EXPECTATION / PLAN
[1] Swap an M15 with an automatic transmission and maybe an abs unit as well along with uncut wiring, which can be done if I find a half-cut or a clear complete setup. I need detailed advice about getting the correct engine and transmission by knowing the part numbers etc
[2] The suspension needs a complete overhaul all the boots and bushes are shot along with the shocks.
[3] The car needs a complete denting and painting job including fixing the sideboards and the rear fenders.
[4] Want to fix the issue of the carpet getting wet and surface rust appearing on the floor due to some factory fault in the swift, not to forget the water also seeps and accumulates in the spare wheel area and has started surface rust there too.
[5] I would like to add the features like the multi-info clock etc which came in the Japanese or European models.
[6] Ac needs a complete overhaul, the current setup works and is OEM but the compressor is shot it makes a consistent bussing sound below 2000rpm and I believe this too is a factory issue with most of the swift of the same era.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Selling the car is not an option. An overhaul is not being considered due to the stress the engine has gone through and no guaranteed workmanship in KPK at least also a need to have an automatic transmission.
I also require expert advice on how to solve the water seepage and leakage issues and would want to have precautions on removing and protecting from any rust actions in the future.
Looking forward for valuable input from everyone here.
