I saw that we don’t have a dedicated forum for Suzuki Ciaz. The owners who own it maybe should share their experiences to help out the new car buyers out there. Lets use this forum to discuss the pros and cons of this car as well as comparisons to other automobiles out in the market.
This thread will serve all the Owners/Fans of PakSuzuki Ciaz and members can post their experience as well as seek help for their automobile from other users. The primary motive is to help and share information regarding Suzuki Ciaz with other members.
The competition in Pakistan Auto Market is increasing rapidly because all companies are introducing new cars and improving the existing models. Suzuki Ciaz is stylish and luxury sedan car introduced by Suzuki Pakistan in local auto market. Suzuki is not known for its successful sedan cars as previous sedans of Suzuki failed to impress the buyers. Although Suzuki Baleno and Margalla were considered as successful sedan cars of their times but Suzuki Liana proved a worst disaster for the Pak Suzuki.
Suzuki Ciaz 2017 is a well known and successful sedan car in other regional auto markets like India and Thailand. In Pakistani Market Ciaz is competing with Toyota Corolla and Honda City, both are the most successful sedans in local market. In India, Suzuki Ciaz is more successful than Honda City hence the competition in Pakistani Market will be interesting
Suzuki Ciaz is offered in 2 variants which are priced at
Ciaz M/T (1.4L) - 1859000 - 5 speed manual
Ciaz A/T (1.4L) - 1999000 - 4 speed Auto
Suzuki Ciaz 2017 Engine & Performance
New Suzuki Ciaz comes with refined K14B VVT with EFI Petrol engine. The engine is 1373cc, DOHC 16 Valves (4-cylinders - inline) with 91HP@6000RPM and 130NM@4000RPM torque. As far as the fuel economy of Ciaz 2017 is concerned, although company claims that its fuel efficient K-Series engine gives around 20 Km/L mileage on highway yet we have to wait and watch for its performance in typical conditions of Pakistan. This 1373cc, 4-cylinder motor is mated with a 5-speed manual transmission, while there is also a 4-speed automatic gearbox on offer with the automatic variants.
Suzuki Ciaz Pakistan Exterior
New Suzuki Ciaz 2017 has stylish and sporty looks. Its sleek and modern backlights and majestic front grill makes it distinguished among other cars. While the perception of a car’s design is subjective, exterior characteristics of Suzuki Ciaz visually stand out. The exterior of the car has elaborated curves and cuts, especially in front and back bumpers which add to the style of the car.
Ciaz comes with Steel Rims with Wheels Caps, 15 inch Rim Size and default 185 tyre size. In nutshell the exterior of Ciaz is elegant and eye-catching and much better than previous sedan introduced by Suzuki
Suzuki Ciaz features a bolder and sportier design rocking eye catching tail lights and projection headlamps. The addition of Alloys and Fog lamps however would have made the look a lot more nicer
Suzuki Ciaz Pakistan Interior
Interior of Suzuki Ciaz is spacious but it lacks a lot of modern features. One of its most important safety features is the presence of Dual Air Bags. Air Bags are not present in Ciaz’s main competitor Honda City. It has stylish power-steering with adjustment option. It has an impressive Air-Conditioning System, power windows, power locks, Keyless Entry, power door locks and multi-media player. Suzuki Ciaz also has immobilizer which makes it impossible to start vehicle without specific encoded key. Ciaz has impressive Tachometer with detailed digital display and information which features a MID and matches a lot to the cluster given in Suzuki Vitara.
In the interior Ciaz has a relatively smaller Glovebox but it also supports a covered storage compartment in the centre console which hides the USB and power outlets along with cup holders. Cupholders and small storage compartments are also present in all 4 doors. Auto Power Window is offered on the driver side only but the Power Mirrors and Child Lock are present. No retractable power mirrors are present though which would have been a premium addition.
It wont be wrong to say that Suzuki Ciaz is currently the leading vehicle in terms of Spacious Cabin. Ciaz offers best in class Cabin Space for both front and rear seats that is augmented by the bootspace which is also more as compred to the locally manufactured.
Powerful & Lightweight
The Ciaz comes equipped with a 1.4 litre engine with VVT & delivering 91 bhp. With its extremely light weight construction, the car weighs only 975 kilogrammes which means that it can deliver a staggering power to weight ratio of 93 bhp/tonne.
In spite of having a larger footprint, a lighter chassis enables Ciaz to tip the scales at 975 kilograms, making it nearly a hundred kilograms lighter than Honda City and over one hundred and fifty kilograms lighter than the Toyota Corolla.
Safety Features
As far as safety parameters are concerned, the Ciaz comes equipped with dual frontal airbags, ABS with EBD and seat belts (Both Front and Rear) with ELR, pre-tensioners and force limiters.
Ciaz a 4 star ASEAN NCAP safety ratings for adult occupants.
The main point to be considered here is that the main competitor of Ciaz that is
Honda City does not feature any Airbags or other safety features mention above except ABS which is also not coupled with EBD
Following are some exclusive features of Suzuki Ciaz, which we usually dont get do not get in the vehicles of this category
Dual Airbags
Projected headlamps
Height adjustment seat (Driver)
Availability on control rate (that means no premium)
Flat rear bed
510L boot space
Addition of features like DRLs, Push Start, TRC, VSC would have been a virtue as they are present in almost all the modern vehicles
This must also be considered that Suzuki Ciaz was introduced in 2014 and is a relatively modern car than its outdated competition; 5th generation City, which Honda Atlas introduced back in 2009. Add the safety features, build quality and ergonomically architected cabin space; the car is ahead of its competition in many ways.
The main drawbacks of this car include
No Climate Control
No Multimedia Steering Wheel Controls
No Alloy wheels
No Navigation option
Dull bland Interior
No fog lamps
Relatively high price
No customisation option from PakSuzuki
The main point that must be kept in mind is that Suzuki Ciaz is a CBU imported from thailand with all the taxes paid by PakSuzuki. Being a CBU it supports a better build quality and superior Quality control than any other locally manufactured vehicle.
