Just getting used to the new vehicle. Have driven it a few hundred kilometers so far. Still need to take it on a longer run.
I was driving a Suzuki Swift Auto with Navigation, Wagon R and a Toyota GLi manual 2015 before i got the Vitara (just to give you an idea about my views and reference to previous experience). I am afraid i will not be able to do any comparisons with Revo, which I have not driven.
Initial Feeling:
The Vitara GLX comes loaded with a lot of goodies which we have read about and some of us have seen during a dealership visit. The Panoramic Sunroof is indeed an interesting addition. My kids love it. I like going on long drives early morning on Sundays/holidays and this indeed will be an exciting addition on those drives. Because of the Holy month of Ramazan, I have not been able to take those drives yet....but looking forward to them.
Seating Position:
I love the idea that the seat height can be adjusted, although manually, with a lever on the side of the front seats. The elevated seating position gives a very different, and for me a comfortable, driving position feel.
Cabin Noise:
The cabin noise is very well controlled. Good usage of sound damping materials.
Favorite Gadgets:
1. This is my first vehicle with a Push button start. I need to get used to keeping the keys in my pocket all the time, even when the vehicle is running.
2. The giant sized touch screen. It is simply amazing. I needed to carry my Wifi hotspot device with me in the car and was able to get access to my Google account and browse the internet. Best of all was that I could use Google Map with the "Traffic" option ON and foresee which route to take at any given time. I am sure as I start driving the vehicle more for everyday use, this feature will come in handy.
3. Auto AC
4. Cruise Control....which I am sure will come in handy in future on longer drives.
5. Paddle Shifters. This is my first vehicle with paddle shifters. It is nice to have a different feel when driving and alternating once in a while between auto and paddle shifting manual mode.
6. Sports Mode: The feeling of sudden rush of power to the wheels and quite a variance in the vehicle response is exhilarating.
7. Lock (AWD) mode: Haven;t used it yet. I don;t know if I ever will....but it is reassuring to have it there just in case its needed. I am a city dweller and will probably not be using this feature in the near future...but when one gets stuck...its good to get un-stuck quickly
8. Parking sensors: These are quite interesting. I was initially missing the rear-view camera, as my Swift Nav was equipped with it....but eventually i find i am getting used to the sensors and their gentle beeping sounds as i try to maneuver the vehicle in and out of a tight spot. I would still have liked the camera...but the sensors I would like to keep.
I know a lot of reviews talk about the bad quality of interior plastics. I guess coming from the Swift and Wagon R I probably did not feel it was THAT bad. But I am sure compared to higher end vehicles people have genuine issues there. For me, well....its easier to clean with a slightly damp cloth.
oh and i like the leather/semi leather seats.
Will update more in the future. If anyone wants more details, please let me know. I am no expert but will try to help out.
I am sure I have not yet mentioned all the features....but then I have not used all of them yet.
Alhamdolillah, over the decades, having had the privilege of driving multiple Zero Meter vehicles of Suzuki and Toyota in Pakistan, i can tell you the built quality of the Vitara is definitely better. The fact that it's made in Europe has something to do with it. Enjoying the ride so far...
