The exterior of the 1st Generation Audi R8 features a very distinctive design language but is still instantly recognizable as an Audi. The front fascia features slim narrow side swept headlights with integrated daytime running lights, dual air intakes below the headlights and a large trapezium styled grille. The sides feature large side vents and the R8 signature sideblades. The rear end houses trapezium shaped taillights with a tube design, large dual grilles bellow the headlights and large dual circular sports exhaust tips. The R8 Plus variant features a small fixed lip spoiler on the rear deck and a larger rear diffuser. The facelift variant introduced a series of cosmetic upgrades that included new headlights that incorporated a tubular design, new wheel designs, circular exhaust outlets and new taillights with a tubular design.  The overall exterior of the Audi R8 features aggressive styling that is portioned nicely and is able to easily stand out amongst its rivals. Options include a choice between 3 different rim styles, carbon ceramic brakes, carbon sigma sideblades and carbon fiber engine compartment inlays.
